Daisy was born in 1925.  Daisy's father was Keng Tye Chia and her mother was Tuan Neo Lim.  Her paternal grandparents were Chia Hood Theam and Lan Neo Yeo. She had two brothers and four sisters, named Chin Tiong, Bok, Amy, Grace, Elsie and Maggie. She has a half-sister named Lyna.
